
Cemex, UAE and Star Cement Co L.L.C., Dubai partner to boost circular economy in the Building Materials Industry.
Cemex UAE has recently signed a cooperative agreement with Star Cement Co LLC, a subsidiary of UltraTech Cement Limited, India, which is an Aditya Birla Group Company. The primary objective of this partnership is to recycle concrete waste in the construction industry, reduce carbon emissions and improve the environmental impact of construction projects.

The two companies will collaborate to develop new solutions to manage and reuse concrete waste using advanced and environmentally friendly practices. Cemex will also offer low-carbon byproducts to Star Cement, helping to reduce the carbon footprint of the built environment.
According to Rafael Villalona, the Country Director of Cemex UAE, the company is eager to collaborate and work closely with partners who share the same sense of urgency in tackling climate change challenges. He further stated that the partnership with Star Cement is just one of the many steps Cemex UAE is taking towards achieving its sustainability goals and Climate Action Program, called “Future in Action.”
The partnership between Cemex UAE and Star Cement is in alignment with the UAE’s 2050 vision to become a Net-Zero Nation and a Global Leader in Sustainability. Both companies have pledged to adopt innovative solutions that will contribute to a greener future for the Building Materials industry in the Middle East region.
